सुनीता और संगीता दोनों ही अच्छा बोलती थीं लेकिन अभी काफी समय से मौज – मस्ती करने के कारण सुनीता को भाषण देने की आदत नहीं थी। वहीं संगीता हर चीज़ में आगे रहती थी जिसके कारण उसने बहुत ही ज़बरदस्त भाषण दिया, सुनीता ने भी ठीक – ठाक बोला लेकिन अब उसमे वो वाली बात नहीं थी जो कुछ साल पहले हुआ करती थी। भाषण के परिणाम आये तो संगीता को प्रथम पुरस्कार मिला और वायदे के अनुसार कंपनी के साथ काम करने का मौका। सुनीता को तो जैसे इससे कोई फर्क ही नहीं पड़ रहा था, उसने संगीता को बधाई तक नहीं दी। लगता है बड़े कॉलेज में आने से सुनीता के अंदर थोड़ा घमंड भी आ गया था, अपने आगे वह किसी और को कुछ समझती ही नहीं थी। सुनीता ने इस बात का बुरा नहीं माना और वे दोनों ने उसके बाद पूरा मेला घूमा, खाना खाया और अंत में घर वापिस आ गए। संगीता ने कंपनी में चुने जाने की बात अपनी माँ को बताई तो माँ बहुत खुश हुई। उन्होंने कहा कि यह सब उसकी मेहनत का नतीजा है और अगर वह इसी प्रकार से लगातार मेहनत करते रही तो ज़रूर सफल होगी। संगीता ने पूरे तीन महीने उस कंपनी में कड़ी मेहनत की और उसके प्रयास का नतीजा ये रहा कि वहाँ के सबसे बड़े अधिकारी ने उससे प्रसन्न हो कर, उसे दिल्ली हेड ऑफ़िस में उसकी सिफारिश कर दी। दो महीने बाद, उसका हेड ऑफ़िस में इंटरव्यू था और अब संगीता पूरे दिल और जान से उसकी तैयारी में लग गयी। वहीं दूसरी तरफ, सुनीता उसी तरह इधर – उधर घूमते रही और अपना कीमती समय व्यर्थ करते रही। दो महीने बाद, संगीता का इंटरव्यू हुआ और उसने बड़े ही शानदार तरीके से सारे जवाब दिए। उसे डेढ़ साल बाद, कॉलेज खत्म होने के बाद, कंपनी ज्वाइन करने का प्रस्ताव मिल गया। संगीता ने यह ख़ुशी सब से बांटी और सुनीता को भी यह खबर सुनाई। सुनीता ने सोचा कि अभी भले ही संगीता को नौकरी मिल गयी हो लेकिन सुनीता को उससे अच्छी और कहीं बेहतर नौकरी मिलेगी।

Translation
Both Sunita and Sangeeta used to speak well but Sunita was not used to giving speeches for quite some time due to her time wasted in doing fun and frolic. While Sangeeta was excelling in everything, due to which she gave a very spectacular speech, Sunita also spoke well but now she did not have the same charm that was there a few years back. When the results of the speech came, Sangeeta got the first prize and the chance to work with the company as promised. It was like Sunita was unaffected by all this, she did not even congratulate Sangeeta. It seemed that Sunita had developed a sense of haughtiness after coming to such a renowned college, she considered herself to be the supreme and didn’t value anyone. Sunita did not mind this thing and both of them then went around the whole fair, ate food and finally returned home. When Sangeeta told her mother about her selection in the company, her mother became extremely happy. She said that all this was the result of her hard work and if she continued to work in this way, she would surely succeed. Sangeeta worked hard in the company for the entire three months and the result of her efforts was that the senior-most officer there was impressed by her, he recommended her name to the Delhi Head Office. After two months, she was to be interviewed at the head office and now Sangeeta was wholeheartedly preparing for the same. On the other hand, Sunita wandered around like that and wasted her precious time. Two months later, Sangeeta was interviewed and gave all the answers in a great way. A year and a half later, after finishing college, she received the proposal of joining the company. Sangeeta shared her happiness with everyone and told this news to Sunita as well. Sunita thought that even though Sangeeta had got a job now, Sunita would get a decent and better job than that.
